TERRADON Corporation is seeking a full-time Microstation Designer. The position will primarily work from the corporate headquarters office in Poca, WV.
Essential Job Functions
The primary responsibilities of the Microstation Designer will be:
•Utilize Microstation to develop and prepare engineering drawings
•Utilize practical design knowledge for transportation projects
•Work closely with engineers and other designers to ensure coordinated design systems
•Compile data and perform dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings.
RequirementsMinimum of two years of relevant drafting experienceProficient in the use of Microstation V8i, and specialized transporation design softwarePursuit of Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an engineering or business related fieldTechnical interest in engineering or construction management.Interest in learning about large complex, high pressure projectsComfortable operating in a team-oriented, collaborative, fast paced work environmentProduce accurate and timely results while maintaining a customer service attitudeMust be a self-starter attitude with proactive, results-oriented focus; and willing and capable to assume additional responsibilitiesAuthorized to work in U.S.

Job DutiesExecuting geotechnical engineering projects from start to finishDeveloping field exploration and laboratory testing plans for geotechnical engineering investigationsPreparing proposals for geotechnical engineering servicesCoordinating/managing field investigationsSampling and logging soils and rock during field investigationsResearch, engineering analysis and preparation of geotechnical engineering reportsTracking budgets and schedule to ensure project requirements are metReview of foundation plans and grading plans for conformance with geotechnical engineering investigation reportsCollaborating with various other consultants including civil engineers, structural engineers, architects and construction managersCore work hours will be Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm with overtime as neededAll other duties as assigned
Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering (MS preferred).WV Professional Engineering License5 to 15 years of experience.Working knowledge of soil mechanics theory and laboratory testing techniques.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Computer skills including CADD, Microsoft OfficePossess an outgoing and positive attitude, are dependable and meet all assigned project deadlines.Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
