Geotechnical Engineer

Job Description

TERRADON Corporation is seeking a full-time Geotechnical Engineer. The position will primarily work from the corporate headquarters office in Poca, WV reporting to the Engineering Department Head.

Job Duties:

• Executing geotechnical engineering projects from start to finish
• Developing field exploration and laboratory testing plans for geotechnical engineering investigations
• Preparing proposals for geotechnical engineering services
• Coordinating/managing field investigations
• Sampling and logging soils and rock during field investigations
• Research, engineering analysis and preparation of geotechnical engineering reports
• Tracking budgets and schedule to ensure project requirements are met
• Review of foundation plans and grading plans for conformance with geotechnical engineering investigation reports
• Collaborating with various other consultants including civil engineers, structural engineers, architects and construction managers
• Core work hours will be Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm with overtime as needed
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering (MS preferred)
• WV Professional Engineering License
• 5 to 15 years of experience
• Working knowledge of soil mechanics theory and laboratory testing techniques
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Computer skills including CADD, Microsoft Office
• Possess an outgoing and positive attitude, are dependable and meet all assigned project deadlines
• Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines
