TERRADON Corporation was contracted to develop construction plans for the cleaning and painting of the superstructure steel and substructure rehabilitation.  Substructure rehabilitation included crack repair, blast cleaning, repairing of spalls and delaminated concrete, and chloride ion extraction.  In addition to the concrete repairs, the abutments were converted to semi-integral and the bearings and backwalls were removed and replaced.

TERRADON analyzed the pier to determine if the carbon wrap would be sufficient to repair the deteriorating pier. TERRADON created the special provisions for the chloride ion extraction.
