WVDOT US 60 Chelyan to Montgomery PIE Study

TERRADON Corporation was contracted to perform a design study for twelve different sights along the 13 mile stretch of roadway on US 60 between the Chelyan to Montgomery bridges.  Spot improvements consist of adding center turn lanes, lengthening existing center turn lanes, adding right turn lanes, retaining wall, extension of existing retaining walls, and a slip study to determine long term remedial solutions just east of Go-Mart where rock slides frequently close portions of lanes or the entire roadway in the area.

TERRADON prepared a PIE study including feasibility reports, studies, and construction estimates for the 12 separate sites within the study area, along with subsequent surveying, mapping, and geotechnical engineering work necessary to develop preliminary plans. Additionally, TERRADON prepared boring layout plans to allow for geotechnical investigations of the sites including the three slide areas to be repaired.
